The 2015 Down Under Sports Cross Country Team represented the USA very well in the Gold Coast 5.7K Challenge! With 3,300 finishers, this is a very competitive race and the Aussies are always very welcoming, but at the same time ready to defend their home course. With an energetic “big time” race atmosphere, this is a fun race to watch and even more fun to compete in!
Our top male finisher was Elliott Gingi (NJ) with his 3rd place overall finish in a time of 18:04. The boys placed three runners in the top 10 and eight in the top 20 overall. Jocelyn Sosa(CA) was our highest female finisher with her 9th place finish in the women’s division (78th place overall) with a time of 22:16. Jocelyn also won our girls’ All-American race to carry on the family tradition started by her brother (Randy) two years ago.
We’ve had top five finishers every year since competing in the Gold Coast 5.7K Challengeand have had both a male and female finish as runner-up. I hope you will consider joining our team to represent the USA and help continue our competitive tradition as we once again prepare to race in the land down under!
